Zaika means ''flavour" or "sense of taste". 


Our aim at Zaika here in Hanoi is to demystify Indian food otherwise known to be rich and old style. We bring to you recipes from everyday home cooking that have been cherished by families from across India. The cuisine is a contemporary interpretation of classic Indian cooking. Utterly Indian, yet of the times we live in by following the simple rule of nutrition – Eat Natural, Eat Whole & Eat Everything

Set in the old quarters of Hanoi, the restaurant offers a contemporary ambience with an experience of wholesome Indian food made from locally sourced fresh produce & ingredients. 

Our guests are in for a  delightful journey as we work with ingredients and cooking techniques that are common to Vietnamese kitchens as well as that of India. The flavors of fresh seafood, lotus stem, colocasia and succulent chargrilled kebabs cooked in the ‘Tandoor’ over charcoal are those that will be familiar, yet obscure.

 

Choose from platters that come as a meal-for-one or an array of dishes & curries to-be-shared. We have something for the kids too - a special menu that is delicious yet healthy.

Chef Rashid, the head chef at Zaika is passionate about Indian food. With 20 years of experience in India, South Africa & Hong Kong , Chef Rashid’s expertise & passion is evident in his cooking. While in Hong Kong , he had the opportunity to collaborate with a well-known International Chef.

 

The sous chefs working with him have had experience at well-known places in India; in an Indian Kitchen.

Team Zaika has a Vietnamese chef as well who has a few Vietnamese dishes to offer the guests.

The Restaurant & Bar Manager Srimanta has over 9 years of experience including 7 years in a five star resort in Dubai before he joined the team.
